Watercolours are made by dispersing pure pigment in a watersoluble binder, the most common being gum arabic. The paints are very transparent and are diluted with water and applied in thin washes. This technique creates very bright, luminous paintings. Watercolours are generally available in either liquid form in tubes, or as small solid "pans" which are activated by dragging a wet brush across the surface.

We stock numerous ranges, from the budget student quality Aquafine by Daler Rowney, to the eponimous Winsor & Newtons artists range. We are also the exclusive distributor for a new range of tube colours; Vintage Watercolours by Wallace Seymour - a fascinating range of paint made with many rare and unusual pigments.
